More Information
I think that steroids shouldn't be used by athletes in sports because it will no longer be about the talent. If steroids were used it would just be about who can get their hands on the most steroids not on how talented someone is. The actual talented people would just be second best behind the steroid users. It just gives people that unfair advantage, people who have worked hard to get where they are, are passed up because someone took a bunch of steroids. Plus if steroids were used, with all the side effects of them we wouldn't be having these "jacked" athletes for long. Heart conditions, anger problems, and the addictiveness of the drugs would make their lives shorter than wanted. I just think that there are better ways to make youself better at a sport then swallowing some pills or injecting yourself with steroids.

Steroid Reflection
Wikipedia states that steroids are an organic compound that has a particular arangement of cylcloalkane. There are many different kinds of steroids such as testosterone, estradiol, dietary cholesterol. You might be thinking that these things are already in your body but the NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) says that when taking steroids you put and overload of these coupounds into your body which can have a negative impact on your body and mind. Given the obvious negative impacts on the body, one of the major mental ones is addiction. NIDA states that in animal research has concluded that animals will self-administer steroids when given the oppertunity.

Personal Bio
My name is Jonathon Chermak and I am from Valparaiso Indiana. I was born in Griffith Indiana, but moved to Morgan Township in Valpo when I was twelve for a better school. I am six foot four and I love to play sports. As far back as I can remember I have been doing some sort of sport. I played basketball, track, soccer, baseball, and golf in High school. I am currently enrolled in Purdue North Central but after my first year I am planning on transfering to Valparaiso University to run track. My major I am going for is sports athletic training but I am thinking about changing it to something in business. I want to find out more information on why steroids are so frowned apon. The reason why I am so interested in this topic is because sports has always been such a big part of my life and steroids has been a big part of many sports.
